Glazing edge bonds

The glazing edge bond is one of the weakest thermal points in the building envelope. As a linear thermal bridge between glass and frame, it can significantly influence the overall energy balance of a Passive House building due to the large number of linear metres in typical façades. Reducing the linear heat loss coefficient (Ψg) is therefore essential for achieving low window U-values and preventing condensation. Warm-edge spacers made of low-conductivity materials minimize heat loss compared to conventional metal spacers. Optimized glazing edge systems improve surface temperatures, reduce thermal bridging and are a key element in certified Passive House windows.
