Description
The McGlone Volumetric System is a lightweight timber construction system, comprising a timber stud wall filled with wood fibre insulation (Gutex Thermoflex, 0,038 W/(mK)), and with a secondary layer of wood fibre insulation to the outside (Gutex Multitherm, 0,042 W/(mK)). A rainscreen is fixed to the outside by way of timber stubs that pentetrate the secondary insulation layer. The roof comprises timber beams and uses the same materials; for the pitched variant, the exterior insulation is fixed using insulation anchors and battens are fixed using steel screws. The fixings are taken into account in the U-value calculation by way of a surcharge. For the flat variant a vapour-tight singly ply membrane is used to the outside. Project-specific dynamic hygrothermal calculations according to EN 15026 are therefore recommended to confirm there is no accumulation of moisture in the roof assembly over time. The floor assembly comprises timber beams and is insulated using loose-fill wood fibre (Gutex Thermofibre, 0,040 W/(mK)).
